KUALA LUMPUR: Some 3,000 students from educational institutions and schools in the Federal Territory took part in a run here to express their appreciation and thanks to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who is retiring at the end of the month.

The run, organised by the Wangsa Maju Sports and Recreation Club and the Wangsa Maju Civics Club, was flagged off by National Unity and Social Development Minister Datuk Dr Siti Zaharah Sulaiman at the KL Tower yesterday.

She said the run was a small token of appreciation compared to the sacrifices that Dr Mahathir had made for the country.

The participants ran carrying postcards containing messages of appreciation to the Prime Minister. – Bernama
