Musa: Timber revenue on the decline

REVENUE from Sabah’s timber industry that once contributed as much as RM1.1bil annually to the state’s coffers could eventually drop to a negligible amount with just over RM225mil expected from this sector next year, said Chief Minister Datuk Musa Aman. 

He said this trend could only be reversed with the establishment of reforestation schemes provided for in the state’s sustainable forest management programme.
