KUALA LUMPUR: The Government will continue monitoring essential goods required for the Deepavali celebrations to prevent profiteering by traders as well as to ensure that there is enough supply to meet the demand.
However, it is unlikely that there would be a shortage of essentials like rice, rice flour and mutton as only a small percentage of Malaysians will celebrate the Festival of Lights, said Deputy Domestic Trade, and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk S. Subramaniam.
