IPOH: The Customs Department has paid a total of RM14mil in cash rewards to those who tipped off its enforcement unit pertaining to smuggling activities since January.
Its director-general Tan Sri Abdul Halil Abd Mutalib said the highest single payment made was RM1.4mil to an individual who led the officers to a recent seizure of ecstasy pills valued at a few million ringgit.
