GENTING HIGHLANDS: Kannathil Muthamittal, a film about a little girl's search for her biological mother who abandoned her when she was an infant, swept six awards including best film at the inaugural International Tamil Film Awards (ITFA) 2003 held at the Arena of Stars here last night. 

The film by renowned director Maniratnam clinched the best actress, best upcoming female singer, best director, best cameraman and 2002 popular film awards at a glittering ceremony attended by over 100 Tamil film personalities from Tamil Nadu.
