SEREMBAN: The Health Ministry will turn Alor Star Hospital into a northern referral hub for treatment of pre-invasive and gynaecological cancers by early next year.
Its parliamentary secretary S. Sothinathan said the gynae-oncology unit would be set up at the hospital to cater for patients from Kedah, Perlis, Penang and Perak.
