MALACCA: Syed Ismail Syed Alwi, the man Penang police believe can help them solve the state Treasury cheque scam, is also being sought by Malacca police for a similar fraud, police here confirmed.
Malacca police chief Senior Asst Comm I Datuk Christopher Wan said Syed Ismail was one of the two suspects identified in the cloning of 173 Malacca government cheques.
