PETALING JAYA: Thirteen unions representing water supply workers from the private and public sectors have formed an umbrella body to protect their members from any negative impact that may arise when the Federal Government takes over water management from state governments soon.

The group, representing every state in Peninsular Malaysia, held a press conference convened by MTUC deputy secretary-general Abdul Halim Mansor yesterday to voice concern over issues such as terms of employment, collective agreements and the status of in-house unions.
