PUTRAJAYA: The Government has rejected a request from Chin Peng, the former secretary-general of the out-lawed Communist Party of Malaya (CPM), to return to the country now.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who confirmed receiving Chin Pengs request through a third party, said the Government would not grant him the permission to come back because he was still linked to an organisation which had a history of involvement in violent activities.
