Unit foils attempt to smuggle in Thai chicks

ALOR STAR: The Anti-Smuggling Unit (UPP) here foiled an attempt by three men to smuggle in 23,800 chicks from Thailand via the Malaysian-Thai border near Durian Burung, 65km from here, on Thursday. 

The chicks were found in a lorry, which was detained at 11.15pm inJalan Padang Sanai near the border by a UPP team led by Insp Sabaruddin Salleh.
