SINGAPORE: A convicted Malaysian heroin trafficker lost his last-ditch bid yesterday to avoid a death sentence, while international human rights group Amnesty International urged Singapore to grant a retrial.
Voice cracking, Vignes Mourthi, 23, pleaded for a retrial in a 10-minute appeal to High Court Judge Lai Kew Chai.
