KOTA KINABALU: A written complaint from a Philippine government official about the alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl at an immigration detention centre here sparked off an investigation into the incident, the Sessions Court heard yesterday.

Sabah police General Operations Force (GOF) commander Datuk Abdul Halim Abdul Hamid said details on the alleged rape were stated in an aide memoire or note he received from Ernesto Milan, a member of a Philippine government delegation that was in Sabah from Sept 2 to 5 last year.
