KANGAR: The Thai authorities are drafting new legislation under which all smuggled Malaysian cars seized will be returned to Malaysia as part of a move to address rampant vehicle smuggling along the border.
To ensure transparency, the new legislation will also mean that the present batch of seized cars will no longer be auctioned at Thai border checkpoints but in Bangkok by a specially appointed auction panel.
