BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Three billion people in the world, or half of the planet's population, are living in extreme poverty today, according to US-Asean Business Council director Robert McRae.
The majority of these poverty-stricken people were rural folk, he said at the three-day 15th Pacific Economic Co-operation Council general meeting here yesterday.
