King attends National Day concert

VVIP TOUCH ... the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Syed Putra Jamalullail meeting veteran artiste Tan Sri S.M. Salim who was one of the performers at the Konsert Harmoni Keranamu Malaysia at Stadium Putra in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur yesterday. 

To kick start the concert, the King was handed the conductor's baton to set off the orchestra, which was backed by 80 musicians, before the official conductor of the night took over the stage. 

Veterans such as Adibah Noor led a group of singers to deliver the Jalur Gemilang song while historian Datuk Dr A. Samad Said read a poetry entitled Mutiara Kemerdekaan

The concert organised by CNI Enterprise also saw popular artistes such as Siti Sarah, Angel Lee and soprano Chi Yong taking stage. 

Proceeds from the concert will be channelled to Pusat Khidmat Masyarakat Putrajaya and Yayasan SPB Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Fauziah Tengku Abdul Rashid.
