Man in a coma after crashing into boulders

BALIK PULAU: A poultry stall assistant is in coma after sustaining serious head injuries when the motorcycle he was riding crashed into boulders strewn along Jalan Bukit Baru here following a landslide. 

The incident occurred at 5.45am yesterday when the victim, Mohd Rani Jaini, 27, was on his way to the Air Itam market from his home in Kampung Terang during a downpour. 

Penang Municipal Council worker Yakali Mat, 56, said he saw Mohd Rani lying unconscious on the road. 

Yakali said a driver who passed by rushedthe victim to the Balik Pulau hospital. 

Mohd Rani's wife, Rosie Mohd Husin, 27, said he sustained injuries on the head. 

“He has yet to regain consciousness. He hit a large rock. The rock broke into two upon impact,'' she said.
