PETALING JAYA: The recent surge in indiscipline and violence in schools has prompted the Education Ministry to study the root causes and recommend remedial measures to arrest the trend.
Stung by the latest incident, in which nine secondary school students had to spend a night in the lock-up after being arrested for a gang clash in Malacca, the ministry also decided to re-look at the role of discipline teachers and procedures.
