KUALA LUMPUR: Local fans of Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees may be a little disappointed to learn that the movie standoff between the two horror picture icons of the 1980s, Freddy vs. Jason, will not be seeing the light of day in cinemas in the country.

Assistant manager of publicity at Audio One Entertainment, Tham Siew Wah, confirmed that the movie had been banned by the Film Censorship Board because of the large amount of violence on display.
