Villagers to seek spirit’s permission to hold kenduri

AMID the disappearance of a young rubber tapper in Kampung Saga Ulu in Mambau, Negri Sembilan, villagers are talking about an old practice of seeking permission from a wandering spirit to hold a kenduri in their village.  

This was the practice in the old days, said Malaysia Nanban, quoting villagers as saying that the spirit would provide the cooking utensils for the feast, which would then disappear after the function.
