BUTTERWORTH: The parents of 16 pupils who were treated for swelling and bruises after a teacher hit their hands with a broomstick and the teachers at SK Alma Jaya here have made peace.

They shook hands after an hour-long meeting at the school with state Education Department director Datuk Dawa Abdullah yesterday morning. The parents agreed that such an incident, which occurred on Aug 16, was unfortunate. However, they urged the school authorities not to allow such an incident to recur.
