PENANG: After the lull in the travel industry caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) scare and Iraq war earlier this year, the huge turnout at the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) International Travel Fair over the past two days was a pleasant surprise for exhibitors.
Happy Holidays director Marie Lim said the large turnout on the opening night was beyond her expectations, adding that it even exceeded the number of visitors on the closing night of last year’s fair.
