KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court will decide on Sept 9 whether to dismiss the appeal of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s former speechwriter on the grounds of his absence during proceedings.
Justice Ahmad Maarop fixed the date after hearing submissions from defence counsel Balwant Singh Sidhu and De-puty Public Prosecutor K. Muniandy on whether Munawar Ahmad Anees’ presence was required at the High Court for this appeal against his sodomy conviction and sentence even after he had served his six-month sentence.
