PENANG: Starwalk will, for the first time in its 25-year history, be held in Bayan Lepas on Dec 14.

Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas is scheduled to flag off the walk at the Penang International Sports Arena (Pisa) in Relau, instead of at the Esplanade.

Organising chairman Datuk Seri Kamal Hashim said the committee decided to change the venue from this year in line with the opening of The Star Northern Hub in Bayan Lepas.

He said with the new venue, participants and their family members could get to enjoy the Starwalk variety show in air-conditioned comfort.

“Participants need not have to bear with the sweltering heat anymore while waiting for the results and lucky draw.

“We also want to provide our loyal participants with the comfort of an air-conditioned venue,” he said.

The 10km walk, which will start off and end at Pisa, will cover Jalan Tun Dr Awang, Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah and Jalan Mahsuri among others.
