THE bomb blast at the JW Marriot hotel in Jakarta is a chilling reminder to security forces in countries in the region, including Malaysia, that the Jemaah Islamiah (JI) terrorist network is still alive.
The warning of a Bali-style attack in the region came just weeks ago with regional intelligence officers, including those in Indonesia, saying that the JI wanted to prove a point – that it is still deadly.
