PONTIAN: Indiscriminate dumping of diesel by passing vessels along the Straits of Malacca near Tanjung Piai has threatened coastal mangrove area, which is home to much wildlife, said Johor Environment Department director Tengku Bakry Shah Tengku Johan.
He said a 2km stretch of mangrove swamps along the Tanjung Piai National Park was found to be covered with diesel yesterday.
