MUAR: Police will seek the co-operation of the Royal Malaysian Navy and the Fisheries Department for a joint security patrol to protect fishermen in the Malacca Straits.
Johor police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Musa Hassan said given the length of the coast in west Johor, the department would need about 5,000 policemen to monitor the straits.
