PETALING JAYA: It is very important that the boy convicted of murdering his tuition teacher’s daughter receive counselling while he is in Kajang Prison, said a former Welfare assistant director and a psychiatrist.

“He has been through a lot; he needs to go for counselling as part of his rehabilitation programme,” said Viji Pillai, who retired from the Welfare Department in 1997 but continues to volunteer her services with organisations that work with problem children and youth.
