KUALA TERENGGANU: Omar Ahmad, the father-in-law of Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, heads the list of 87 recipients conferred awards in conjunction with the 41st birthday of the Sultan of Terengganu today.
Omar has been awarded the Darjah Seri Setia Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Terengganu (SSMZ), which carried the title “Datuk Seri.”
Also conferred the SSMZ are Chief Justice Tan Sri Ahmad Fairuz Sheikh Abdul Halim, Armed Forces chief Jen Tan Sri Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Norian Mai.
Court of Appeal Judge Datuk Abdul Kadir Sulaiman is the sole recipient of the Darjah Seri Paduka Mahkota Terengganu (SPMT), which carries the title “Datuk.”
The two recipients of the Darjah Dato’ Setia Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Terengganu (DSMZ), which also carried the title “Datuk,” are Ahli Majlis Pemangku Raja Tengku Baharuddin Tengku Bahadur and AHT (Norlan United) and Carriage Sdn Bhd managing director Abdullah Taib.
State executive councillor Abu Bakar Chik, who is in charge of agricultural and rural development, is among 11 conferred the Darjah Dato’ Paduka Mahkota Terengganu (DPMT), which carried the title “Datuk.”
Another state executive councillor Wan Hassan Mohd Ramli, who is in charge of sports, culture and tourism, has been conferred the Pangkat Jaksa Pendamai (JP).
Among the other recipients of the DPMT are state Mufti As-Syeikh Abdul Halim Abdul Kadir and state Syaria Chief Judge Dr Abdullah Abu Bakar.
Other recipients are deputy state secretary (administration) Mohd Mokhtar Ismail, Hulu Terengganu district officer Mustafa Sidek, state Public Works Department director Mohamad Husin, Army Third Division artillery commander Brig-Jen Datuk Abdul Hadi Abdul Razak, paediatrician Dr Iaen Hamzah Sendut, MIDF chief executive officer Mohd Sallehuddin Othman, Inter Century Sdn Bhd managing director Mustaffa Mohamad and Wann Power Test Sdn Bhd director Wan Hussein Wan Endut Al-Haj.
Four people have been conferred the Darjah Setia Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Terengganu (SMZ), eight the Darjah Ahli Setia Sultan Mahmud Terengganu (ASM) and 19 the Darjah Setia Mahkota Terengganu (SMT).
Among those conferred the SMZ are chief of staff of Third Division headquarters Kol Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor and principal religious commissioner (Islamic family law) Padzal @ Fadzil Mokhthar.
Acting Terengganu police chief Senior Asst Comm (II) Mior Husain Mior Lub Ahmad, deputy state secretary (development) Mazlan Ngah and Telekom Malaysia corporate affairs general manager Khairul Annuar Mohamed Zamzam are among the eight ASM recipients.
Marang district officer Osman Muda, Dungun municipal council president Mohd Rozali Saleh, state Economic Planning Unit deputy director Zulkifli Mohamad, Malaysian consul-general in Jeddah Zulkifli Yaacob and Culture, Arts and Tourism Ministry division secretary Farizah Chik are among the 19 SMT recipients.
Three people have been conferred the Darjah Ahli Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin (AMZ) and 33 the Darjah Ahli Mahkota Terengganu (AMT).
