Bank clerk charged with CBT

KUALA LUMPUR: A 29-year-old bank clerk was charged in the Sessions Court for misappropriating over RM90,000 from an insurance company last year. 

Wan Amil Hazlan Wan Mahmud claimed trial to the offence of committing criminal breach of trust by depositing a Malaysian Government cheque totalling RM95,409.70, which was meant as payment to Amanah General Insurance, into  

his Maybank Wadiah savings account. 

He had allegedly committed the offence as a Citibank clerk at that time at Menara Citibank, Jalan Ampang, here, on Nov 13 between 9am and 4.30pm.  

Judge Rosenani Abd Rahman fixed RM30,000 bail and set a four-day hearing beginning Jan 19.
