LONDON: Banking giant UBS was accused in the Commercial Court here of hatching a Machiavellian scheme in its dealings with Tenaga Nasional Bhd.
TNB’s leading counsel, Lord Grabiner, said UBS had sought to rectify the mistakes it was accused of making in a US$500mil (RM1.9bil) bond issue in 1997, and had tried to make money out of it without informing its client.
