PETALING JAYA: The Pan African Sanctuaries Alliance (Pasa) has urged Malaysia to reconsider its recent decision to transfer the four baby gorillas to a zoo in Pretoria, South Africa, arguing that it does nothing to discourage the illegal trade in endangered great apes.
Pasa instead proposed that the gorillas be placed in a sanctuary near their range lands in central Africa, where they might one day be released back into the wild.
