REMARKS by Sisters In Islam (SIS) and Kelantan Mentri Besar Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat have started a flurry of debates in the mainstream Malay press over the issues of unmarried professional women and the Islamic dress code.
SIS had reportedly labelled men in general as old-fashioned for still holding on to certain traditional views about marriage; so much so that many well-educated and career-minded women were reluctant to get married.
