ALOR STAR: A regional ulama (Islamic scholar) secretariat will soon be set up with its membership comprising ulama bodies, Islamic organisations and Muslim intellectuals from Asean countries.
Malaysian Ulama Association (PUM) deputy president Assoc Prof Salleh Ahmad said the secretariat would be known as the South-East Asia Ulama Secretariat or Shura from its Malay acronym.
