KUALA LUMPUR: The police have received about RM100,000 cash and other forms of sponsorship to participate in the World Police and Fire Games in Barcelona at the end of the month.

Bukit Aman chief public relations officer Supt Jamshah Mustapa said the team received RM50,000 each from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Malaysian Tourism Board.

The National Sports Council had also agreed to sponsor 11 national athletes from the department.

He said the sponsorship would be in the form of airline tickets, lodging and food during the games between July 27 and Aug 3.
