NEW YORK: The New York Police Department (NYPD) is to station its officers in Malaysia and other South-East Asian countries as part of its own international intelligence-gathering network because it cannot depend on US federal agencies like the FBI and CIA to do so.
In an exclusive interview with the mass-circulation New York Post, police commissioner Ray Kelly said he would send detectives to Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines soon.
