KUALA LUMPUR: A highly wanted criminal who preyed on the rich and famous living in exclusive residential areas in the Klang Valley was shot dead by a SWAT team in the upmarket Taman Hijau, Ampang, housing estate yesterday. 

With the help of tracker dogs, the crack police team also arrested an accomplice who had been shot and wounded. Another accomplice, also believed injured, managed to escape during the 5.50am incident.
