NEW YORK: Retired Federal Court Justice Tan Sri Mohamed Azmi Kamaruddin has been elected to the International Criminal Tribunal (ICT) for Rwanda in central Africa to hear cases of genocide and other serious crimes.
Azmi, 70, was among a pool of 18 back-up judges to help speed up the work of the tribunal who were elected at the United Nations General Assembly yesterday.
