PHNOM PENH: The two-day 36th Asean Ministerial Meeting (AMM) ended here yesterday with the member nations reaffirming their commitment towards closer co-operation to ensure economic stability and security in the region.
The meeting also saw the delegates having frank discussions on the member countries’ internal problems without departing from the grouping’s non-interference policy. In a 15-page joint communique, the foreign ministers urged Myanmar to resume efforts for reconciliation and dialogue among the various parties in the country, leading to a peaceful transition to democracy.
