TAIPING: The Culture, Arts and Tourism Ministry will not provide an annual allocation to help out Taiping Zoo because it is already making profits.

“The zoo’s annual collection is now about RM2.4mil while its expenditure is RM1.2mil and with the introduction of the night safari, its gate collection will surely increase,” minister Datuk Seri Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzir told reporters after witnessing the official opening of the zoo's night safari by the Sultan of Perak on Sunday.
