KUALA LUMPUR: A mad scramble took place as scores of customers and workers ran for their lives when floodwaters gushed down the Dataran Merdeka's basement area where a bazaar and a car park are located.
Within less than 30 minutes, the 3.3m-high basement floor was submerged during the three-hour downpour that started at about 4pm.
