KUALA LUMPUR: The Works Ministry has allocated RM100mil to design and construct a road to ease traffic congestion between Sri Damansara and Sungai Buloh, its minister Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu said here.

He said the proposed road would have an overhead bridge and two elevated flyovers for U-turns.

Samy Vellu was speaking to reporters after a 30-minute discussion with Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Chan Kong Choy, who is also the Selayang MP, who led a delegation to meet him at the ministry.

“We hope the traffic congestion can be overcome with the construction of the new road,” he said.

Samy Vellu said the Government had also approved an allocation to upgrade the road linking the Templer Park and Rawang, while the ministry’s highway planning unit had been directed to undertake a survey of the number of vehicles using the road between Kuala Garing and Country Homes.
