PETALING JAYA: The Health Ministry has sent a medical team to the Royal Malaysian Navy base in Lumut, Perak, after 200 naval personnel were quarantined after they came into in contact with a suspected Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) case.
The directive for the quarantine follows the death of a crewmember of the frigate KD Lekiu. He was suspected to have had symptoms of SARS before he died on Friday.
