MUAR: Johor police, who were tracking several suspects after a murder case here last month, stumbled upon a car theft syndicate after the arrest of eight men here and in Malacca last week.
Johor CID chief Senior Asst Comm (II) Tan Seng Heng said the syndicate was also believed to be involved in selling cars from Singapore that were meant for the scrapyard. He said the syndicate was discovered after police found the cars used by a gang said to be involved in the murder of New Song Ling, a 21-year-old mechanic, at Taman Indah, Sungai Abong on April 3.
