Singapore ticks off daily for alleging slack screening

SINGAPORE ticked off Berita Harian for allegedly making unfounded accusations in an editorial saying that its health authorities have been slack in preventing Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) from spreading to Malaysia. 

The daily reported the reply by the republic's Health and Environment Minister Dr Balaji Sadavisan that his country had fought the disease to prevent it from spreading beyond its territory by taking all necessary measures at exit points, be it via land, air or sea.
