KUALA LUMPUR: Travel agencies have introduced a creative marketing strategy to include concert performances in their tour packages.

Ken Air Leisure will work with entertainment company Star Planet to promote tour packages featuring Taiwanese singer Jay Chou.

Its executive chairman, Zaini Ramlee, said by having entertainment tied into tour packages, they would be able to attract more customers.

“As people are travelling less unless there’s a need to, we have to resort to other creative means to boost the excitement again,” he said at the launch of the Jay Chou “The One” concert.

The concert would be held at Stadium Merdeka on May 17.

Chou, known as the “R & B Prince of the East”, has won many music awards including “most popular artiste” at the MTV Asia Music Award ceremony in Singapore this year.

In recognition of Chou’s efforts in promoting intra-Asean tourism, the Culture, Arts and Tourism Ministry has bestowed him with the Ambassador of Tourism award.
