KUCHING: Hotel occupancy took a plunge in the last few months with 32,382 room reservations cancelled due to the Iraq war and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) outbreak.
National Economic Action Council head of secretariat Dr K. Govindan said that based on Malaysian Association of Hotels figures, 282 conferences and meetings were cancelled last month, 98 in March and 32 in February.
