Mustapa rebuts The Economist

KOTA BARU: National Economic Action Council Executive Director Datuk Mustapa Mohamed has given a point-by-point rebuttal of the claims made in the April 5 edition of The Economist on Malaysia and its leadership. 

Mustapa said the letter containing the points of rebuttal was faxed to The Economist on Friday. 

The letter included an article countering the various issues raised by The Economist, he said. 

“The letter also urged The Economist to publish the letter to the readers column which was sent earlier and also to correct the mistakes in its article,” he said af-

He said the contents of the letter were approved by Acting Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
