Sole male participant makes heads turn

KUALA LUMPUR: Being the only thorn among the roses at a KL Fashion Week 2003 workshop, sales manager Charlie Chua drew some curious stares from the other participants while learning the art of nail painting yesterday. 

Chua - who declined to have his photo taken, saying his boss was unaware that he had taken leave to attend the workshop - said he was prepared for the stereotypical reaction when he called to sign up for the Glitter & Dazzle workshop and found he was the sole male participant.
