PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Trades Union Congress (MTUC) has suggested to the Director-General of Trade Unions that the only way to resolve the dispute between the two warring factions in the National Union of Bank Employees (NUBE) is through a re-election of its principal office-bearers.
MTUC secretary-general G. Rajasekaran said he had met director-general Zulkifly Abdullah several times recently and discussed the issue.
“The director-general proposed that both factions come together first and a re-election be held six months to a year later but I suggested having it immediately and he was agreeable to it,” said Rajasekaran.
He said the MTUC strongly believed that a re-election would be the only solution since both sides were unable to iron out their differences.
