PORT DICKSON: Villagers at Tanah Merah Site A near here scurried out of their homes after a loud blast rocked their homes about 3.30pm yesterday.
The blast was caused by about 15 gas cylinders stored in a fenced-up yard, which were believed to have exploded due to the hot weather over the past few days.
Ten personnel from the state Fire and Rescue Department rushed to the scene to control a fire triggered by the explosion.
Part of a wooden structure serving as a storeroom was damaged. No casualties or severe damages were reported, and the remaining cylinders were transported to a storeroom nearby.
